This is just one of my steady studio musician clients, Mr Jeff Cook. He recently brought me in 4 guitars since he decided to travel to where I live for a week (he's on the otehr coast of Thailand) and had me do some of his main recording/gig guitars. Initially the Strat was the one least used. However, I told him that the Strat (when set up correctly) was one of the best guitars for raw emotional sound that was both sweet and warm). I said that many people (including a good number of techs) cannot find that very specific sweet spot (as I like to say) where the body just gets zap with energy when everything is set just right and the strat will resonate and vibrate so easily. So Jeff politely said, "OK, Find me the sweet spot you're talking about, but I will tell you the odds are still pretty good that I will not not be using the statocaster that often.". UPDATE: 7 weeks later, I write Jeff and said " OK , out of all the guitars I set up for you , which one is your favorite. Has it changed or is it still the same?" He sent me this video and said " The Strat! Its so amazing feeling and the tone is so much more vibrant! Alive!". NOTE: Same strat I Setup and rewired is in the video!
Now! I tell you! That is what I live for! That is pay day for me! To see the joy and hear it in another musicians voice!
