You see the glory… but do you know the story? …. 😔

These variegated Tephrocactus came to us in an exciting new import few months ago, they rooted beautifully and was on their way to be released..
Then…plot twist… 😅
Something happened…. Maybe they were overwatered, maybe it was the humidity but either way there was rot …. and plenty of it …So now they had to be pulled, cut back, dried, and rerooted.
There was a lot of “what have I done?!”, “The soil should have been more porous”, “I should have have known better”…. moments.

And now… look at them, almost ready to be released….again ❣️

The sad truth about being a plant importer is that it’s not always sunshine, pretty plants and happy endings….Sometimes it’s rot, losses, self-doubt, learning, unlearning, starting over and hoping you got it right this time but every plant teaches us something. So when you see that beautiful, healthy sitting pretty on our shelf, just know there’s most likely ah whole “tory” behind it.
Thank you for listening to our stories…supporting our little plant obsession and coming along with us on this wild, unpredictable and absolutely beautiful journey❣️

P.S… 👀
LOOK OUT FOR THESE BAYBEES IN OUR NEW RELEASES.

Soooo, I’ll just admire it from a safe distance and enjoy the view for now. 😍
