After graduating from the Lyceum of Arts, Babkin and Zaporozhets continued to be friends, began to write and perform their songs. In 2000, the name was coined and the first songs for the band were written. Once, after a walk-photo shoot, where red dominated the clothes, the poet Galina Davydova, came up with the name "Red Friday", which Sergei later changed, removing the word "red" through associations with the group "Red Mold", and left only "P ' yatnytsia ". The next day, Andrew came up with the emblem "5'NIZZA".
At the studio "M.A.R.T." in an hour and a half all 17 songs that were composed at that time were recorded. Immediately, 35 copies of the discs were compiled and recorded. The musicians independently designed the cover, and then copied it on yellow paper using a photocopier. The recording of the first album, which was released unofficially in the future and sold through the pirate network in huge numbers in a few weeks, cost the band $ 30.
