Banana Boat provides work opportunities for local crafters, small entrepreneurs and women’s groups, a total
of 237 Ugandan suppliers. We pay on delivery and advance capital to buy materials, as well as giving interest free loans and helping with designs. We favour hand-made over factory made, natural over synthetic. We like using pure and natural materials and selling recycled items. Our paper products (Papercraft Africa) are hand made in Uganda using recycled paper and natural fibres. Our beautiful recycled paper bead jewellery is made out of old cereal packets and magazines. Our coloured glass is hand blown out of old wine bottles. Our candles are hand dipped by girls from The Candle light Foundation who previously had problems with their lives forcing them to live on the streets of Kampala.
