José Barrientos is an Art Designer/Director with a passion for creating dynamic visual work that encourages dialogue, discovery, and transformation, a lover of weird things and purveyor of random knowledge, with a goal to inspire and mentor others. He is also an enthusiastic birder. His original designs (made by a human, no AI here!) will be available for browsing and purchasing in prints, stickers, coloring books, and more!

Also in attendance will be local poets Chera Hammons and Wes Reeves in conversation about their new books of poetry with Jenny Inzerillo from HPPR. Hammons newest release is Birds of America (6/9/26); Reeves's newest release is Más Dirt (2026), a follow up to Yellow Dirt (2022).

Erin Lowery is a seasoned English educator with 15 + years in high schools, community colleges, and universities. She holds an M.S.Ed. in Secondary English and a Cum Laude B.A. In English from Harding University. Erin has taught composition, honors literature, and college‑readiness courses, mentored new teachers, led UIL literary and performance teams, and served on safety, calendar, and curriculum committees. She has directed youth‑education programs, overseen operations, and created state‑aligned curricula. Recently, she designed and taught online and face‑to‑face English courses at Howard College and Western Texas College, contributed to faculty AI guidance, and supported first‑generation, multilingual, and dual‑credit students. Erin now works as an Instructional Designer at West Texas A&M University and champions critical thinking, open access to information, parent education, and freedom and liberty for all.
