The Northwood amethyst tree trunk vase is a classic piece of antique carnival glass produced by the H.J. Northwood Glass Company between 1909 and 1915. It features an organic tree bark texture with irregularly spaced hobs and a shimmering, iridescent silvery purple finish. Handcrafted by Harry Northwood’s factory in Indiana, Pennsylvania, it is mold-blown then "swung" (swung while hot to stretch the neck into a tall, graceful shape with a ruffled rim). This unique piece measures approximately 12"t x 6.5"w, and is available at 616 Commercial in historic downtown Anacortes.

The Olympia SM3 typewriter appeared in 1951, and it embodies the definition of classic of typewriter design. Marketed as a high-end machine, the SM brochure said “... the finest writing machine money can buy, with all the advantages of portability... It's built better - for life.". Olympia model SM's were once considered the Mercedes Benz of typewriters. The SM3 and two other Olympia models were the most expensive typewriters available at the time, so owners tended to care for them well.
