Last week, Ohana teamed up with Daniel Ho to do a couple of training sessions with Los Angeles Public Library staff on our collaboration to offer Ohana ukuleles to borrow, free of charge, to anyone with a library card at a growing number of participating LAPL locations.

How the program works: start at lapl.org/ukulele to find the closest branch to you that offers the program. With your library card, you can borrow a kit with an instrument, case, chord book, and tuner that you can keep for up to 3 weeks before returning in person to the circulation desk. The ukuleles are spread out throughout LA County - there is probably one near you waiting for you to give it a strum!

Ohana Artist Yoshino singing with ukulele demos the PKT-70G (video from 2025).

PKT-70G is an All-Solid pineapple tenor ukulele, featuring a tried-and-true spruce top and mahogany back and sides tonewood combo. Solid spruce lends brightness and an additional bit of pluck and punch to the warmth of the mahogany. To lend a bit of further sparkle and shine, we’ve chosen an abalone rosette and purfling throughout the top. This all solid build boasts a high gloss finish -- making these ukes as pretty as they are sweet sounding.

The -70G pineapple ukulele is also available in concert, soprano, sopranino, and sopranissimo sizes (PKC-70G, PK-70G, TPK-70G, and TTPK-70G).

Introducing our newest Ohana Artist, Yoshi Hana!

A successful “ukulele singer” based out of Tokyo, Yoshi is our first Ohana Artist from Japan. You may have already seen her demoing a few different Ohana and OCS models over the last couple of years, or you may have even seen her live in Australia, Hawaii, Canada, here in Southern California, or even on her recent solo tour across her home country.

Ohana's 3/4 scale acoustic-electric guitar, the GT-8E! Coming stock with a Fishman Sonitone pickup, our top-of-the-line guitar model, new for 2026, is designed for accessible performance. The shorter scale length is easier for ukulele players to try, but isn't so far away as to alienate long time guitarists.
