Meet our kitchen and bath designer, Sara Skaar!
Tell us a little about yourself and your background in kitchen and bath design.
I grew up in Arnold, and I have been a designer for 2 years. I started designing for Lowe’s in 2024 and received multiple awards, including “Top 100 Designers” nationwide and “Top 10 Designers” regionally. Getting a new kitchen or remodeling a bathroom is an exciting time for a homeowner, and I love being the one who makes your dreams a reality. There was no way I could turn down the opportunity to work with Pinnell’s, become a member of such an amazing local business, and serve the community I live in.
How would you describe your design style?
I listen to the customer, learn their individual style, find their inspiration, and use it to create a space that they absolutely love. Having grown up where nature is a way of life, I love seeing natural wood tones and neutral colors.
What can customers expect when they work with you?
I love what I do. If I have to create multiple different designs to find what you are looking for, then that is what I will do. This is your project and your space. If a homeowner is overwhelmed, I will break it down. We can start with just a door style you like, or even start with what you do not like and work forward from there. As I said, I have no problems creating multiple designs and letting you choose which one you want. I love seeing pictures of your home and inspiration pictures of what you are looking to create.
What do you enjoy about serving homeowners in Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties?
The people here are so fun to work with. Bringing an old cabin or ranch house into the modern world is so much fun. Having a local designer gives you the ability to be active in your design. It’s invaluable to be able to collaborate together and see changes in real time. Having a local designer makes the process easier and faster.
