This was such a fun read, but also emotional read for me! I went into this pretty blind as I do most of my books, so I don’t want to give too much away. I feel like not knowing certain parts, made the book that much more emotional and entertaining for me.
This is actually my first read by Lynn Painter, and I will definitely be reading more. I don’t read too much YA because I like a little more spice in my books; however, this book was exactly what I needed.
Trust Fall is 100% a popcorn read!
While it brought out a few emotions, it was such a fun, quick, and entertaining read!
The Lowell family inherits unexpected money from an older gentleman, named Lou, who passes away. There are conditions attached before they receive the inheritance though. They have to move from their small town home in Nebraska to live in his New York historic home for 6 months before they can actually inherit the money. The family has no idea what to expect from this, but they were starting to really struggle financially. As much as they didn’t want to just up and move to New York, they knew they had to accept the deal. Julia, the fmc, my girl.. my heart hurt for her so much throughout this book. I just wanted to befriend her so bad! While she struggles to adjust and make new friends at their new school, her twin brother, Liam, finds it pretty easy. Liam is very sociable and does well in school, making it no problem to fit right in. Although twins, they are not much alike. Julia is socially awkward, and she also struggles with math. Gardenwood Academy has high expectations of their students, and they don’t allow low test scores to ruin their reputation. Julia is nervous that her low scores would make her have to leave Gardenwood. That would ruin their inheritance deal. The Headmaster (principal) suggests she get tutoring. That’s where Damion, the Rebel, comes into play. Damion is a wealthy, popular boy at Gardenwood Academy. Damion is also a tutor.
I’m going to leave it at that because… the rest, the rest is just so fun.. it makes you laugh, it makes you angry, it makes you smile, it makes you sad, it may even make you tear up at times. If you are into cute romantic stories, this is being released 9.29!
Thank you to NetGalley, Lynn Painter, and Simon & Schuster for allowing me to be an ARC reader for my honest review!
