We're transforming our parking lot into a showroom for First Friday!

FREE hot dogs 🌭 & popcorn 🍿 with on-site registration. Music. Open house vibes ✨️

Our new neighbors and future customers will have a chance to meet the owners, check out sample event setups and view our assorted inventory, including our vintage collection.

If you're planning an event this Spring or Summer this is for you. If you're just planning to be out strolling for a good time, this is for you too!

We're also giving away some of well loved inventory - tables, chairs, tents - that have lived their best days and now need a new home. Giving away, like for FREE free. We may even have some other items for sale.

Before "event rentals" became an industry, Black communities were already building the infrastructure of gathering.

In antebellum Philadelphia - the epicenter of free Blacks in the nation at the time - Blacks entrepreneurs professionalized catering and expanded it to include rentals!

Outside of Philadelphia, Black inventors patented folding chairs and furniture casters that influenced the industry by making large-scale, repeatable gatherings possible.

Yet, none of this was about convenience. It was about dignity, autonomy and sustainability within a segregated society.

As Philadelphia approaches the nation's 250th anniversary, it's worth remembering that Black innovation shapes not only American culture, but the very mechanics of how we gather!

The term "catering" didn't exist until the 1860s, after the formerly enslaved, Black Philadelphian, Robert Bogle helped to create the industry by professionalizing food service outside of the home. His predecessor, Peter Augustin, became one of the earliest documented Black entrepreneurs to operate what we would now recognize as an event rental business by bundling rentals with catering service!
