UPDATED DATES: Community Cleanup Effort at Riverview Station at 191 Lyman Street in the River Arts District continues! Thursday 10/17, Friday, 10/18, Saturday 10/19, Sunday 10/20, Monday 10/21 from 9 a.m-4:00 p.m. Please continue to spread the word about this community cleanup effort, and please continue to join us as you are able. Many hands are making this burden lighter!
Also THANK YOU! So many of you have come to help at this hub for the artist community of Asheville as we seek to recover following the catastrophic and devastating flood in the RAD.
The only thing you need bring with you is yourself! That said: We do have safety supplies and tools on site, but bring your own if you can. In addition, we are in need of more of the following tools and supplies if you have/know a source:
• Headlamps
• Safety goggles
• Rechargeable utility lights
• Valved n-95 masks
• Industrial-style powerful fans
• Wheelbarrows
• Battery powered multi tools with drywall cutting blades for the multi tools
• Portable generators bigger than 1800 watts
• Large Rubbermaid bins
• Heavy duty 12-gauge electrical cords
Tyvek Suits - Medium, Large, Extra Large
Battery charged security camera (people are stealing our supplies at night)
If you have front-end loader, backhoe, pickup truck or similar, those are also helpful!
We also specifically need two volunteers per day to staff our welcome tent. If you are interested in this, please text Jenny at 828-380-9505.
