Bellingham Family Hives

Bellingham Family Hives We are a local family business supplying the area with quality hand made beehives from local wood. I have been keeping honeybees in our local area for 7 years.

I am a beekeeper producing beehives that are designed for our local wet climate. I sell honeybees when available, honey when available, and the boxes and necessary equipment for keeping them. Sourcing locally milled wood and building quality hives are my priorities. All of my woodenware is assembled and dipped in 300-degree paraffin/microchrystoline wax mixed with pine gum rosin and soaked for 10

minutes. This is the ultimate in wood preservation for our wet climate. I'm not interested in building pretty hives. I build hives that the bees will work and that will hold up against our rough winters and long wet springs.

Alright! I've got 25 overwintered nucs ordered. I will be picking them up mid to late April. They will be $200 each. A few of these are already gone so if your wanting to start beekeeping this year or your wanting to expand your Apiary let me know and I'll get one held for you. Messenger is the best option for contact.

Looking at possibly ordering nucs from southern Oregon for pickup in late April or early May. If I have enough interest I would be willing to make the trip. They would be $200 each. Let me know ASAP so I can get an order in.

If you are thinking of getting into beekeeping or you already have and you have zero knowledge. These are three books that I feel very comfortable recommending to any beekeeper. You absolutely cannot lean on youtube for all of your knowledge.

I've got a few hives available for anyone who is looking to start or expand your Apiary. I have a limited amount of my deep boxes as I had to have knee surgery this year but I was able to order in boxes to keep in stock until I get rolling again. These are all fully assembled and dipped/soaked in paraffin/microchrystoline wax and pine gum rosin. The ultimate in water proofing for our wet climate. Also the bottom boards are sloped to divert moisture out of the hive.

We should have a significant amount of nectar comming in this next couple weeks with the combination of nice weather and the fact that every fruit tree, red elderberry, and scotchbroom are all in bloom at the same time. If your hives are 3/4 full if bees and brood they will be swarming in the next 2-3 weeks unless you take action (add room or split)

I will be grafting queens next week also from one of my best hives so I will have (Lord willing) some queens for sale in about a month.

Sloped bottom boards- $30
Hive body w/frames and foundation-$85
Hive body alone- $35
Honey super w/frames $80
Honey super alone-$30
Deep inner cover- $30
Outter (migratory) cover- $30
Starter hive (pictured here with the single deep configuration) $175

Custom order of sloped Nuc bottom boards. Building these is tedious work because every side piece has to be run individually on a jig to get the slope. Sloped Bottom boards are the hardest but I feel like they help with moisture in the hive which is a huge problem for our area.
