Today, as we celebrate the Fourth of July, it’s worth remembering that the fabric of this country has never been woven by men alone. Women—often unnamed, too often overlooked—have stitched strength, resilience, and vision into every generation of American life. From the fields and factories to the front lines of protest and progress, they have carried this nation forward in ways both quiet and revolutionary.

Their stories remind us that independence is not a finished achievement but an ongoing act of courage. And like any good piece of cloth, this country holds together because of the threads in the weave—especially those we’ve been taught not to see. Today, we honor the women who built, challenged, nurtured, and reimagined America. We see you, we love you and we will continue to tell your stories.
