Trimming your candle wick helps keep your candle burning safely and evenly.

To trim your wick, use a pair of wick trimmers to cut off the blackened part of the wick. For best results, trim the wick to about 1/4 of an inch before each time you light your candle. Doing this will help prevent soot buildup, smoking, and reduce the risk of the flame becoming too large.
