Something new off of the bench this week.
The center stone in this pendant is called Libyan Desert Glass. This unique gemstone has a light yellow hue to enhance that color, I laid a thin layer of gold underneath the stone. That layer of gold truly makes this piece stand out. You will notice on the surface it is bumpy and uneven. That is the natural formation of this truly unique material.☀️
✨Here is a bit of info about the stone👇
🌟Libyan Desert Glass, often called simply “desert glass,” is a natural glass found only in the Great Sand Sea of the Sahara Desert. Around 26 million years ago, a massive meteorite☄️ struck this area, creating temperatures even hotter than the surface of the Sun.
This intense heat fused the desert’s silica-rich sand, giving birth to the stunning yellow-green glass now known as Libyan Desert Glass. This “Great Sand Sea Glass” is more than a beautiful stone—it’s a cosmic relic, a rare gem born from the powerful collision between Earth and space.
Each piece holds traces of this ancient event, preserving a piece of history that links our planet to the mysteries of the cosmos.
Materials: gold fill, gold leaf, and sterling silver
