All done with a disappearing waterfall project. The customer wanted me to rebuild their existing waterfall. They already had many flat rocks as well as quite a lot of river rock. They wanted me me to use those in the design. I designed it so that it has 2 flows- one to the side and another straight down the middle. The customer is also impressively super hands-on so they want to move some rocks around, add plants and fill more rock etc. I’m really happy I got this opportunity to build them this oasis! What do you think??

If you take one thing from me, take this: look at your fish every day.

Koi can't tell you they're sick. They show you instead: Fins clamped tight instead of fanned out, one fish off alone in a corner, a quick flick and scrape against a rock, food they'd normally hit just sitting there. You can only catch it if you're actually watching them every day.

I spend ten quiet minutes at the pond’s edge with my morning coffee before my day starts. Half the time this is just the best part of my day. The other half is why I’m usually able to catch problems while they're still small.

Slow down, take a few deep breaths and just watch them. It’s a lovely habit, and you’ll find that they'll tell you plenty.
