Our miter saw’s LED light just stopped working.

Fortunately, we have Fred.

He spent some time today investigating the failure. Connections are good, wiring looks right, and there’s no obvious damage to the solder joints.

And, before anyone asks, yes, Fred unplugged the saw before taking it apart. Safety first.

His diagnosis: probably a failed LED.

A replacement is on the way.

Management remains cautiously optimistic about both the repair and Fred’s continued employment.

Built this squirrel house a few months ago.

We can now officially report that it has passed inspection by the target demographic.

Unfortunately, our inspector dropped his lunch during the process. Poor little guy.

No word yet on whether this will affect our review.

Meet Fred, our newest employee.

Fred joined the SRS team this week and immediately impressed us with his work ethic. He never complains, never asks for a break, and is perfectly content to stand in the same spot for hours.

Admittedly, he's a little thin. We're working on that.

His primary responsibilities will include coffin testing, greeting customers, and helping out around the shop. He doesn't have much experience, but he interviewed extremely well.

Please join us in welcoming Fred to the team.

We expect he'll fit right in.

He's already working himself to the bone.

Happy International Dog Day from Steiner Ranch Sawdust.

We'd also like to congratulate Luci on once again being named Employee of the Month.

Some people have questioned the integrity of the selection process, pointing out that Luci is the only employee permitted to vote.

Management has reviewed these concerns and found no evidence of wrongdoing.

Small shop. Big project.

This order is almost done. The lanterns just need their tops and lights installed, then we'll move on to the other part of the order: making four smaller lanterns to go along with these.

We think these have come out pretty good and were thrilled by the challenge to build them
..granted, we will also be grateful to get some of the floor space back in the shop.

A quick thank you to everyone who has supported us.

Every order you trust us with matters. We know you have plenty of places you could spend your money, and we genuinely appreciate that you choose a small local shop to build something for you.

Every time you spread the word, share one of our posts, or tell a friend about us, you help us reach people we never could on our own.

And those reviews you leave? They make a **huge** difference. They give people who haven't worked with us before a reason to take a chance on us.

We're a small shop. There's no marketing department, no advertising team, and definitely no corporate headquarters.

Please don't mention that to Luci. She's under the impression the entire operation owes its success to her.

Still our most popular planter box.

Three tiers. Plenty of room for planting your herbs and flowers. Made from cedar to handle the outdoor life.

Today, this one finds a new home. We spent some time with it this morning, reassuring it that leaving the shop is a normal part of growing up.

It seems ready to go. Its siblings are being supportive and hope they will also find good homes.
