It is late October and the Art Shop Club is not meeting because of the danger of contacting the Virus. I hope all are continuing to engage in art projects. I have seen some of Diana and Mona's work and they are wonderful.
Please all stay well. If there is anything at the Art House that you left and you need, please call me and you can pick it up. I have some drawing projects in the drawing room and my large painting is on the easel, bur I haven't felt like painting for months. I plan on having it cleaned again to get rid of the dust.

We will not be getting together as this virus will be with us so everyone keep painting at home or outside when it isn't too hot. Stay well.

Today is the 24th of April and all is well with our artists and we hope to stay that way by painting at home until this virus is under control. We hope to post some of the paintings being done soon on our page here. Love and good health to all our friends and viewers.

Until we can be together again to paint, we are going to work at home. Then we will have a critique of all the work we have done and go to lunch. So, I suggest to everyone to do some creative thinking and art work to share together again. With love, Joyce

On December 19 the Art Shop Club members met at Tahoe Joes to celebrate Christmas. We had a yummy luncheon at Tahoe Joes, then went to Diana & Jim’s house for desert, coffee and drinks. Each artist painted a miniature artwork no larger than 8 x 10 to be exchange specifically for this event.
The paintings were brown wrap with no identification on the cover. At the door the paintings were numbered for a drawing. Once we all got settled Mona Lee gave everyone an opportunity to select (without seeing) a number from a hat. That number was the “gift painting” created by another member and numbered at the door.
We enjoyed the entire afternoon visiting, eating and admiring our new gifted artwork.
A “big” thanks goes to Sissy Ullmann for taking all these great pictures! Another “big” thanks to Joyce Young for sharing and allowing us to paint at her studio “The Art Shop Club”.
We trust everyone had a great Christmas and Happy 2020 New Year.

Fall has begun at the Art Shop Club at 2308 Belle Terrace and the weather is lovely. There are many new paintings in progress and the fruit is ripening on the trees with lilies and christhamthmams showing their colors. The two front yard trees are changing to a lovely red and the buzzards fly overhead in the morning on their route through Bakersfield.

**** The Exhibits. The Fun. The Fair! ****

That’s what September was all about in Bakersfield. Our Members participated at the Fair by entering 16 paintings to the Fine Art’s Competition that they had worked on during the year.

In Alphabetic order: Fred Garcia, Diana Hemminghaus, Mona Lee, Charlene Rickard, Sissy Ullmann and Joyce Young. We collected 9 award ribbons for painting. Our winning categories were Oil painting Professional, Acrylic painting non Professional, Miniature painting, & Pencil / Charcoal drawing,
