A couple of nights ago, I stepped outside and was greeted by this beautiful moon. 🌕 It was one of those moments that made me pause and simply admire God’s creation.

As I looked at it, this verse came to mind:

“The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.” — Isaiah 60:19

The moon is breathtaking, but it is only a glimpse of the majesty of its Creator. One day, we won’t need the sun or the moon because we will live in the glorious presence of the Lord Himself. His light will never fade, and His glory will never end.

Until then, every moonlit sky is a reminder to lift our eyes—not just to the heavens, but to the One who made them.

I can’t wait for that day. ❤️

NEW: The 500 block of Lawrence Avenue will be closed during event hours to create a safer space for pedestrians. This closure will not impact vendor setup or assigned locations.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that bring the biggest smiles. 🐥💚

Today was a big day for our four little chicks—they’re 4 weeks old and got to spend time in their outdoor enclosure for the very first time! They absolutely loved scratching in the grass, exploring every corner, and soaking up the fresh air.

Meet the crew:

💜 Two Lavender Orpington

Watching them discover the outdoors reminds me how much joy there is in slowing down and appreciating God’s creation. It’s amazing how something as simple as happy little chickens can brighten a day.

🌿 Repotting day here at Peace Lily! 🪴

One of my favorite parts of caring for plants is giving them a fresh start. Today I’m repotting a few beauties, including a striking Dark Mystery Pilea with its rich, textured foliage and a beautiful Japanese Aralia, known for its lush, tropical leaves and easygoing nature.

Repotting gives plants more room to grow, refreshes their soil, and helps keep them healthy and thriving. It’s amazing how a little extra care can make such a big difference!

🚨 Breaking News from the Garden! 🚨

The Bee Balm Café is officially OPEN… and business is booming! 🐝🐝🐝

I caught not one… not two… but THREE bees clocking in for their shift today. No coffee breaks, no complaints, and they definitely aren’t asking for a raise! 😂

While they’re busy doing the important work of pollinating, Bee Balm is quietly showing off all of its talents. This beautiful plant has been used for generations to make herbal tea and has traditionally been used to help soothe sore throats, support the body during colds, aid digestion, and promote overall wellness.

So, it’s not just feeding the bees—it’s been helping people too!

I think it’s safe to say this plant has earned its keep around here. Now if I could just convince those bees to help me pull weeds after they’re done… 😆🌿

☀️ This heat is no joke! ☀️

The sun is already raging, but it looks like my coleus didn’t get the memo—they’re loving every minute of it! 🌿❤️

For the rest of us, don’t forget to take care of yourselves during these hot days:
💧 Drink plenty of water—even before you feel thirsty.
🧢 Wear a hat and light-colored clothing if you’re outside.
🌳 Take breaks in the shade or head indoors when you can.
🧴 Don’t forget the sunscreen.
🐾 Make sure your pets have fresh water and a cool place to rest.
👵 Check in on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone who may need a little extra help.

🌿 Mint is one of those plants that just keeps on giving! 💚

Every year, my mint comes back bigger and better, and I always look forward to finding new ways to use it. Not only does it smell amazing, but it’s also one of the most useful herbs you can grow.

Here are just a few of the many ways mint can be enjoyed:
🌱 Brew it into a refreshing tea.
🌱 Add it to lemonade or iced water.
🌱 Use it in salads, desserts, or summer recipes.
🌱 Dry it for homemade herbal blends.
🌱 Enjoy its fresh scent around your home and garden.

One of my favorite uses is for my chickens! 🐔 I tuck fresh sprigs of mint around the chicken coop because the strong fragrance can help discourage flies and make the coop smell fresher. I also love making little bouquets of mint and placing them around our patio. They look beautiful, smell wonderful, and help create a more enjoyable outdoor space.

It’s amazing how one simple plant can have so many purposes! 🌿
