Rain or Shine Markets would like to congratulate Belleville’s new Mayor, Frank Vélez!

Frank understands the importance of community and supporting one another, and that’s why people believed in him.

When we were building up our flea market at Belleville High School, the current administration showed little interest in supporting or even acknowledging a local community event that gave residents something positive to look forward to.

Frank Vélez did the opposite.

Not only did he attend our market and help promote it, he even made a video showing his support for what we were trying to build for the community.

Shortly after that, I received a phone call saying there was a new position of power within the high school that suddenly wanted to change the agreement we originally had in place regarding the market.

No matter what happened, we never forgot the people who genuinely supported local businesses, local vendors, and our community-driven Market.

Congratulations, Frank you earned it.

We truly hope this opens the door for Rain or Shine’s Flea Market to one day return to Belleville and once again give local families, vendors, collectors, and small businesses something special to look forward to.
