For those who asked, here is my chicken cutlet recipe! If you grew up on chicken cutlets, you know the standard. If you didn’t, welcome, this is how we do it.

Crispy, golden and absolutely worth standing over the stove for. The parsley and freshly grated Locatelli get mixed right into the eggs, and the finished cutlets go onto a cooling rack so they stay crunchy, not soggy.

That cooling-rack step? Non-negotiable. Soggy cutlets are a tragedy I refuse to participate in. And yes, you have to eat one while you’re still standing at the stove. It’s the chef’s tax.

Save this one, you’re going to want it in your rotation.

There’s something about this shelf of old Bibles that feels a little more meaningful today.

Last night I shared that they found another nodule on my remaining thyroid. And I’m mad. I’m frustrated. I’m scared. I don’t want to do the biopsies, testing and waiting all over again.

But I also know this: faith doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to feel all of those things.

I can trust God completely and still say, Lord, I really don’t want to do this again.

These worn Bibles have probably been held through a whole lot of hard seasons. Today, they’re reminding me that God was faithful then, He was faithful through my last season, and He’ll be faithful through this one too.

I’m frustrated. I’m still processing. But I’m still trusting.

HOW DO YOU CHILI?

I recently had a conversation with some friends and realized chili is apparently a VERY hot topic. Beans or no beans. Rice or no rice. Crackers, Fritos, cornbread, everybody has a way, and apparently everybody thinks their way is the right way.

For me? No beans. Always served over rice with shredded cheddar and a dollop of sour cream. Sometimes Fritos for dipping, and there HAS to be cornbread on the side. Non-negotiable.

It’s getting cooler here in the Northeast, the windows are open, and it’s finally starting to feel like fall, which means chili season has officially entered the chat.

So now I need to know: How do YOU chili? And tell me where you’re from, because I’m convinced this is regional.

The kitchen and dining room is still clean, so I’m calling that a win. And I think this may be about it for fall decorating this year.

A few pumpkins, some of my favorite old things, and a candle burning on the table. Nothing overdone, just enough to make it feel a little warmer and cozier.

The cooler temps have finally started to arrive and I’m really just enjoying this little view and this season in our home. Sometimes simple really is enough.

I typically show you every single piece I bring home from Brimfield, but there was such a wide variety this year, plus SO much art and advertising, that I decided to share some of my favorites instead!

There are probably another 50 pieces that didn’t make the photos, so there’s still an element of surprise. And swipe ALL the way to the end of the last slide…(there’s a little vintage Christmas hiding back there!)

I can’t wait to bring it all to the booth, upcoming markets, and the online shop. Thanks for tagging along and getting just as excited about these old things as I do. Finding them for your homes, and mine, makes my heart happy.
