I love hunting down unique, vintage items and cast-off furniture. I have been selling my antique and vintage finds at a local antique mall for six years now, and blogging about my flea market adventures for 5. I am also a Certified Merchant for Fusion Mineral Paint--a one-of-a-kind, acrylic-based furniture paint that is the best paint on the market! I recently became a Retailer of Miss Mustard See

d's Milk Paint as well! I love using both lines, teaching others how to use Fusion and Milk Paint, and selling Fusion, all from my website. I also love sharing my decorative and DIY tips on my blog in hopes that I can inspire others to live a beautiful life. You can shop locally with me in Northwest Arkansas by visiting my booth space ast Somewhere in Time Antique Mall in Rogers, Arkansas. Or shop with me online for US-wide shipping at LostandFoundDecor.shop.

I know we all love a good thrift, but not everything you find needs to be brought home! Over on the blog we're talking about ⛳ red flags at the thrift store, both for resellers and for when shopping for your own home.

So today I'm sharing the thrift store red flags I've learned to watch for. These are the things that make me put an item right back down and walk away.

I’ve always loved to travel. I did a ton of it in college, then marriage, kids, and general adulting came along. I loved it all, but the dream to fly away ✈️ and explore stayed alive buried deep down inside.

Fast forward 25 years and it’s finally time to go.

In a few hours I’ll be back on my way to England. I had a friend say yesterday, “Didn’t you just go?” 😅 I get it, twice in less than 6 months feels like a strange amount.

This trip is gonna be the biggest yet. My own full container of antiques, shipped back to Northwest Arkansas. The financial and emotional investment is honestly a bit terrifying.

But how could I turn this down? The chance to travel for my work, drive all over the English countryside, hunt for amazing treasures? It really is a dream.

So fears and all, I’m boarding that plane and we’re doing it. I hope you follow along. 🤗

And whatever dream is yours, I hope you chase it down. I’m 46. If took me 25 years to get here. It’s never too late.

Today on the blog 🤗

For my painted furniture friends… This is a piece that will be coming back with me from the UK. This is the ORIGINAL paint finish, from the late 1800s! So hard to find pieces like this, I’m in love with the subtle details. 😍

Maybe ruffling a few feathers here, but let’s chat about 💸 for a minute.

I’ve always tried to avoid labeling things as “expensive” or “affordable”. It’s honestly such a moving target and when you boil it down, money and value is totally subjective.

What feels expensive to one person may feel like a bargain to another. And vice versa.

That’s because money itself has little, if any, inherent value. It’s just a tool you use to move life along. You exchange money for the things you deem as valuable. And withhold money for things that you don’t.

When something gets labeled as “expensive”, it’s usually because someone has decided the value they get isn’t worth the price. That’s a subjective decision, not an objective one.

I’ve had many comments lately asking if there is a market for what has been labeled as “expensive” antiques.

But here’s the secret— That label doesn’t really exist! It’s all dependent on what you value and what you have to exchange.

So as an antique dealer, my goal is to provide items of history, quality, and character that help you build a home and space you delight in. That’s valuable, if you’re looking for it. And if not, then the cost won’t be worth it.

My job isn’t to decide what’s worth it though. It’s to provide the opportunities, and then you get to decide 🤗

Let’s stop being scared though of what seems “expensive”. Give everyone the freedom to make that value choice themselves. Let’s just find beautiful things and make them available.

Back from a few days of rest before the chaos that is a sourcing trip 🫠 Brad and I snuck away for a few days while our youngest was on a church mission trip. It was the first time we left the two big boys on their own, and they did great! The house was relatively clean when we got home, the trash got taken out, and the cat was fed— all wins 🙌🏻

A few more days left before we head out to the UK. I’m finalizing my budget, itinerary, and warehouse appointments. Lots of final details 😅

A quick reminder - if you haven’t had the chance to fill out my Antiques Wish List yet, please take a minute to do! It will help me know what you are looking for and what to focus on when we go.
