Got to go to the rifle range today, first time in a very long time.

The pic below is for two things.

1. Shoot between heartbeats. The two actually in the bullseye were fired on my heartbeat. I struggle to lower my heart rate enough and this is the result.

2. The rifle is a R***r No. 1 in 257 Roberts, made in 1982. When I acquired it this past spring, I fired two shots that hit the paper 14” apart at 100 yards. I called my gunsmith prepared to have him yank off the barrel and replace it. He examined the rifle and said the barrel was actually in very good shape. After some investigation, he believed the issue was harmonics. He found a part (that took too long to come in) but it is essentially a set screw machined into the receiver that allows you to adjust tension on the barrel. After installing it, he had factory ammo shooting 1.5” groups and I had loaded several variants of powder/bullets that he shot and got a group under 1”.

The 3 shot group is 0.3” spread. If I can ever learn to make my heartbeat slow down, maybe I can get all 5 in the same location!!
