What a great day of Vintage Eliminator at South Mountain Raceway! Brian Ketterer in his super clean Flatty powered Model A hiboy defeats Brian Burns slant 6 powered A coupe in a double red light final. Ketterer left first but Burns left the tree even earlier to make the “first or worst” rule come into play and give Ketterer the win in the battle of the Brian’s. This shakes up the points behind Brian Ketterer’s commanding lead with hard charger Brian Burns moving up into second followed by Danielle Stewart in third, Liz Leggett moves up to fourth spot and a good showing by Gene Groshon moves him up to round out the top five. A great turn out of fantastic cars came out for a beautiful summer day. Our next meet for the 2026 Championship season is back at South Mountain on September 20th for the Glory Days drags. You don t want to miss the Vintage Eliminator class when they come to tear up the track!

Next Sunday July 12, 2026 the Vintage Eliminator class heads for South Mountain Raceway in Boiling Springs Pa for the Drag Racers Reunion. This is the fourth race of the 2026 championship season. Vintage Eliminator Flathead, Fourbanger, Inliner, and Early OHV traditional hot rods and race cars will be battling it out on the track. Our points race is heating up and this weekend will be a great one. Brian Ketterer holds on to the number one spot followed by Danielle Stewart, Austin Heister, Davey Jacobs, Brian Burns, and Liz Leggett. Come on out to South Mountain this Sunday and see you at the drags!!

Well, the weatherman was WRONG. The Vintage Eliminator class race at Mason Dixon went off without a drop of rain all day. Danielle Stewart in the family’s Studebaker powered Bantam Altered defeats Brian Burns and his slant six powered Model A coupe. This shakes up the points race with Brian Ketterer still on top with Danielle in second, Davey Jacobs and Austin Heister tied for third, Brian Burns moves up to the fourth spot and Liz Leggett rounds out the top five.
The ‘Rocking Chair Nationals’ is always a fun time of fast racing, fantastic show cars, legends of drag racing, and great talks with new and old friends. The gloom and doom weather report sadly kept the car count down. And we absolutely do not blame anyone for not coming out with the forecast. But, we all made the best of the time we had to get this race in. Kudos to the crew at Mason Dixon Dragway to work as hard as they did to get this race in from start to finish. Thanks to all that braved the forecast and came out to support the race. Next stop for Vintage Eliminator is back at South Mountain Raceway on July 12th for the Drag Racers Reunion race. Don’t miss it!!

This weekend Vintage Eliminator crosses the border and heads for Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown MD for the third race of the 2026 championship season. Historic Mason Dixon is a track that has been a staple of drag racing since the very beginning of this organized sport officially opening in 1961. So many great races have been run there and this weekend the Gold Dust Memories group has the “Rocking Chair Nationals” old time drags featuring the best nostalgia groups on the east coast. MANDRA, Pro Stick, Outlaw Pontiacs, Impala SS series, Nostalgia Eliminator, Pro Eliminator, Super Stock Nostalgia, Backseat Drivers, a HUGE car show, and our motley bunch of Vintage Eliminator Flathead, Fourbanger, Inliner, and Early OHV traditional hot rods and race cars will be taking to the track. Our points race is heating up and this weekend will be a great one. The threat of rain has us all concerned but if it blows out early enough the Mason Dixon crew will dry and prep that track to get the race in. If the Saturday rain persists the Sunday rain date is the option. We will keep everyone updated as soon as we hear any news. We will have fun no matter what the weather. Come on out to Mason Dixon Dragway this weekend!!

Dfmotormag.com has some great coverage of our June Vintage Eliminator race at South Mountain Raceway. His wrote a terrific article and grabbed some great photos of the diverse style of Flathead, Fourbanger, Inliner, and Early OHV powered traditional hot rods and race cars that run our class. The points battle is heating up as Brian Ketterer still has a slight lead followed by Austin Heister then Liz Leggett followed by Sam Ruppert. This Saturday June 27th is the third race of the 2026 Championship points chase at Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown MD at the Rocking Chair Nationals. Don t miss out on a great time!!

We had a great turn out for the second race of the 2026 Vintage Eliminator class at South Mountain Raceway in Boiling Springs Pa. We had two winners of the day as the rainout April final was taken by Brian Ketterer in his flathead powered 29 hiboy defeating the #1 track roadster driven by Liz Leggett in a super close race determined by only .0395 of a second! Then it was a battle for the day with two long time young competitors going to the finals. Austin Hiester and his 4 banger powered ‘Latimore Valley Special” track roadster defeated Sam Ruppert’s “Windjammer” 4 banger powered radical 30 sedan who run under his dial in. Beautiful weather, fantastic cars, historic dragstrip and great friends makes for a wonderful day in central PA. Up next on June 27th Vintage Eliminator travels to Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown MD for the third stop on the 2026 Championship series trail!

Just one week away from the Vintage Eliminator second race of the 2026 Championship series at South Mountain Raceway! Our first race was a banger with lots of cool flathead, fourbanger, inliner, and early OHV traditional hot rods and race cars. We got down to the final pair of Brian Ketterer in his beautiful flathead powered 29 hiboy and Liz Leggett in the Larry Baish Special flathead powered track roadster. They will be our first elimination pair to determine the winner of race one. Lots of folks are getting ready to do battle on the South Mountain 1/8 mile. You dont want to miss this one! See you at the drags June 7th!

The race is on! Mike and the South Mountain crew will get the track all dried up as soon as the last raindrop falls and the weather blows out in the morning as forecast. We will be running on a delayed schedule but will do our best to get the race in!!
