New Group Forming to Discuss Trails, Safe Walking & Biking in Brandon - First Meeting – Thursday, July 23 at 6 pm

As part of the VCRD’s Community Visit this past spring, a new “ad hoc” and informal committee has been formed around the theme of “Expand Trails and Safe Walking and Biking Routes Across Town.”

Many ideas around this theme emerged from the community visit discussion with leaders and resource providers. A prioritized list emerged from the last get-together although the group meeting this week can talk about anything participants want on theme. The meeting is on Thursday, July 23 at 6 pm in the Methodist Church hall. Parking is on Carver Street.

There was consensus that goals do not have to be huge and widely expensive. We can start the conversation around small, inexpensive and achievable ideas. If you are interested in the topic and would like to join the discussion, all are welcome whether you just moved to Brandon, have lived here all your life, or live in a neighboring town.

Friends of Brandon Free Public Library Garden Tour: Saturday, July 25, 8 a.m to 4 p.m, rain date July 26. Tickets $25.

Gardeners in Brandon, Goshen, and Sudbury will once again open their private gardens to support our beloved library. The theme this year is "Joy of Gardening," and the selected gardens highlight this in many ways. Some gardens are professionally designed, installed, and maintained landscapes; others focus on growing the best and the biggest plants. Some are new, while others have been lovingly tended for decades. All belong to garden enthusiasts and express the joy of gardening.

⚡️ Please help us get the word out:

We know many in our community are dealing with power outages after today’s weather. If you’ve been affected and can get here safely, just let our box office know you’re here for the “No Power Discount” and your tickets are on us.

Come enjoy a couple of hours in the air conditioning, charge your phone, and escape on one of the greatest adventures ever put on film.

Please don’t travel if conditions aren’t safe where you are - we’ll be here if you can make it. ❤️

(And forgive the AI on the image. We prefer our local designers 1000% more. We just needed this one crazy fast, after 5, on a Friday.)
