John Deere books are back in stock! We got some really cute fall books in! We’re open until 6:00pm!

Last night, I was talking to my 13 year old and told her about Dolly passing on. She said she thought she knew who I was talking about. We had just listened to some of her music in the car the other day. I asked her if she remembers receiving books in the mail from the Imagination Library, she sat up straight and said “YES!!!” I explained that was Dolly’s foundation. She looked at me, gave me a big hug and hung her head. Yes, I think she will be remembered for books!

This one hits hard. I love Dolly. She’s always been an inspiration to me. I learned to love music by listening to her. I learned to craft a song from studying her songwriting. When I lived in TN, my own children received books from her Imagination Library. She wanted to get books into the hands of every child. As the owner of a children’s bookstore now, I’ve heard adults come in and actually be offended that Once Upon a Story Bookshop is geared towards children, and not adults. Adults have plenty of bookstores geared toward them. When I opened Once Upon a Story Bookshop, I took a page out of Dolly’s book. I wanted to make reading fun and exciting for children. If we could all strive to be more like her, the world would be a better place.
