An Update from Rivendell (Please Read)
This is a hard post to write.
Over the past few months, a lot has changed for us. Many of you have noticed that Yonder Coffee & Chocolate is no longer in the shop—and we want to share what’s been happening behind the scenes.
We were given an opportunity to relocate Yonder to the Historic District in Bartlesville, and since opening there, it’s proven to be the right move for that side of the business. We’re incredibly proud of what it’s becoming.
At the same time, changes in our immediate area had a significant and immediate impact on our sales here. Combined with some personal obligations and health challenges, I’ve had to take a step back and be honest about what I can realistically sustain.
Because of that, I’ve made the very difficult decision to begin the process of closing Rivendell Books & Baubles.
This place has been more than a bookstore. It’s been a weird, chaotic, beautiful little corner of community—and that’s because of all of you.
We’re not closing immediately, and we’ll still be hosting events and welcoming you in while we work through this transition. After this weekend, hours may shift a bit as we find a new rhythm—we’ll keep you posted as we figure that out.
I also want to say this clearly:
If the right person comes along who wants to carry Rivendell forward, I would absolutely be open to selling the store. I would love to see what we built continue in the right hands.
Thank you for supporting us, showing up, and making this place what it is. Truly.
More updates to come soon 🖤
