I was gifted some vanilla beans today from Vanilla Bean Kings and I’m excited to try to make vanilla!

I am hearing that you can use other spirits instead of vodka. Has anyone used rum or wh***ey or bourbon? Does it give it a different flavor?

How long have you let it rest before using it?
