A Celebration of Japanese Culture with 750 Guests from Around the World ✨

Recently, Taro Yaguchi and the artists from our Asakusa Studio hosted an origami workshop at an incentive party in Tokyo for a well-known global company.

Around 750 participants from all over the world joined the tour, and enjoyed a variety of Japanese cultural experiences during their stay in Japan.

At the event, we set up an origami booth where guests could choose their favorite models on a tablet and learn how to fold them.

Representing Taro’s Origami Studio Asakusa were Taro Yaguchi, David, Hiroko, and Yuzu. In addition to teaching origami, we shared the history and cultural background of this traditional Japanese art form and answered many questions about Japanese culture.

It was a wonderful opportunity to see how origami can bring people together across cultures, languages, and borders✨

A young trainee doctor aspiring to become an expert neurosurgeon, Dr. Tatsuki Oishi, visited the Asakusa Studio to meet Taro Yaguchi!

Dr. Oishi creates miniature origami cranes using surgical instruments. In his search for an effective way to train for neurosurgical procedures—which demand exceptional technical skill, concentration, and mental discipline—he discovered origami as a valuable practice method.

With future patients in mind, he crafts microscale origami works that reflect both remarkable technical precision and a dedicated spirit. Check out these extraordinary creations on his instagram:

During his visit to the studio, he and Taro Yaguchi exchanged insights and information about paper materials and philosophical meaning of origami.

This talented young doctor will no doubt go on to save many lives in the future!

Our senior artists Ben & Frank recently brought origami to the LEGO Headquarters near Boston for a special hands-on workshop ✨🧩
Participants explored the creativity and focus of Japanese paper folding while enjoying a fun team-building experience inspired by art, design, and play.�It was an amazing opportunity to share origami in such an innovative and creative environment!
