Christ Over Culture!
Now that I've given my life to Christ, some people might look at me and say I've become "boring." Maybe because I don't chase the same things I used to. Maybe because I've walked away from certain lifestyles, habits, conversations, and environments that once consumed me.
But the truth is, I'd rather be called boring by the world than be bound by the things God delivered me from.
What some call boring, I call freedom.
I've experienced God's grace in places where I was broken. I've watched Him pull me out of situations that should have destroyed me. He rescued me from mindsets, habits, and struggles that left me empty, exhausted, and searching for something more. The world offered temporary satisfaction, but Christ gave me lasting peace.
Culture constantly changes its standards, values, and definitions of happiness. One day it celebrates something, the next day it condemns it. But Christ remains the same. His truth doesn't shift with trends, and His promises don't expire with time.
Choosing Jesus didn't make my life smaller. It gave my life meaning. It didn't take away my joy. It showed me where true joy comes from. It didn't make me miss out. It saved me from things that were costing me my peace, my purpose, and my relationship with God.
So if living with integrity, protecting my peace, honoring God, and pursuing holiness makes me seem different, then I'm okay with that. I wasn't called to fit into culture. I was called to follow Christ.
I'd rather stand with God and be misunderstood by the world than gain the world's approval and lose sight of who He created me to be.
Christ over culture. Every time.
Because I know who saved me, who changed me, and who continues to guide me, and that's more than enough.
