THE NEXT THE BAIT STORE 304 FISHING TOURNAMENT IS SATURDAY JULY 4TH PANFISHING TOURNAMENT

Pull your 1 heaviest panfish from your daily haul from fishing for your weigh in from waters in Marshall and Ohio county

Your heaviest fish will consist of 1 Sunfish: Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, Green Sunfish, Redear Sunfish, Longear Sunfish, Redbreast Sunfish, Warmouth, and Orangespotted Sunfish.

Or

Crappie: White Crappie and Black Crappie.

Fish will be weighed and measured picture taken and recorded

All ages

$25 a person

Sign ups will be on July 3rd at the Cameron Fireman’s Festival!

No cut off on person limits. All sign ups will be done on July 3rd

Weigh ins start at 6:00PM ends at 8:00PM

Weigh in spot in Cameron but, TBD!

BOTH 1ST AND 2ND PLACE PLAQUES AND PRIZE MAD KATZ ROD AND MONEY WILL BE GAVE BY 8:15PM

Entry money split

4 ways
25% goes to CVFD
25 % goes to re stocking the Cameron dam with finger link flathead and blue catfish
25% goes to 1st place in the panfish tournament
25% goes to 2nd place in the panfish tournament!

If 150 people overall sign up that’s $937.50 per 25% cut!

MAD KATZ is also sending rods for us to raffle off to make some money to re stock the Cameron dam!!

50% of that will go to CVFD the other 50% goes to re stocking the Cameron dam with finger link catfish!

I will have the price and ticket count on that soon!

It was a pretty good week in the woods! It has been 8 years since I shot a turkey and we actually doubled up!

I took my shot and got my bird down. Then I tossed Hunter the gun and she shot. He did miss, but followed up with a clean shot after!😂

Yes they are both Jake’s but it was fun to be able to do that with my cousin before my son is born this fall!

Moving forward, I'm putting a clear and
unbreakable set of rules in place so there's no gray area, no misunderstandings, and no room for misinterpretation.

This tournament is meant to be fun, enjoyable, and something we can all be proud to be part of-but with that comes the responsibility to do things the right way. These rules are here to make sure everyone understands, follows, and respects the standards we're setting.

More importantly, this is about teaching the kids with you how to trout fish the correct, ethical, and true sportsmanlike way. That's what this is really about-passing it on the right way while honoring Cody's memory at the same time.

I am still thinking of a way for bigger families of +3 kids to alleviate having to have a spotter per kid. We may do 2 spotters for that and have the spotters watch 2 kids per person.

I appreciate everyone who supports that and helps keep this event what it's meant to be.

It didn’t go unnoticed what happened. I have made measurements to correctly fix this from ever happening again.

Sorry, I didn’t intend for something like to happen. It is being taken care of.

There will be a correction to final standings.

We will have to have the awards this weekend agian for the correct info and winners.

Here is the most important post I have had for the tournament this weekend!

We were able to raise $835.00 over the last 2 days for the scholarship fund for Daphne, Cody’s daughter. This meant a lot to me because we were able to make more than last years total of $565!

Last year there was 11 kids, this year we had 29 enter, we almost hit our 44 slot goal thisn year!

Together with having both the 2025 and 2026 tournaments we were able to raise $1400.00.

This whole amount will be put into a savings account or in a CD account within the next month. Whichever has the better interest rate where the money will actually gain.

I will try to make next years tournament even better than this one!

Final Results and pictures will be posted by Thursday at the latest! I still have to take a few loads of things home from the sportsman’s club the next few days then I will post all that info for you all and the pictures!
