What happens when the very things that drive you and make you feel "alive" are taken away from you over night? What happens when a global pandemic hits and takes away people's livelihoods, social connections, and for me...the arts?
Self growth happens.
Not that I wasn't growing every day in my art and always pushing myself to be better, but in 2020 I was pushed to grow and better myself in a way I never knew I needed, nor was even capable of!!
When I reflect back on the things I have worked so hard for and accomplished in even just the past 10 years, I am amazed at how far I have come.
I am so proud of who I have become because I've fought hard to get here. Not to say it was all sunshine and rainbows, because it definitely wasn't. However, when I look at the past 10 years, I realize just how much of those years have revolved so heavily around my love, passion, and drive for dance and choreography!! I mean, of course I wouldn't have it any other way because dance is my life, my career, what I have worked hardest for and what I find most happiness in...
As with many of us, so much was taken from our lives last year. During this loss though, I discovered a new opportunity, a new me, and a new set of skills I never knew I had or could be so passionate about!
I started a new business that I NEVER would have seen myself doing in a million years had this pandemic not hit... and guess what?! I love every minute of it! I have always been a compassionate person and enjoy helping others, and with this new job I am able to do exactly that! I make people look and feel their best inside and out! I am so thankful for this new opportunity and self growth!
New year, new opportunities, new growth, new me!! Cheers to anything and everything "new" that gives you life, happiness, and pushes you to grow into your best self! π
