Scott Land stayed busy during our trip to Texas . . . He painted a 7 x7 ft barn quilt for my Dad’s barn which is over 100 years old! Barn quilts are not commonly seen in Texas like they are in Missouri. Pretty proud of him!

Just a reminder that we will be closed next week, August 24-29 for some rest and relaxation. Are we going on a tropical vacation? No, this is my sister’s beautiful and inviting backyard in Texas! We will reopen on Tuesday, Sept 1, just in time for the All Missouri Shop Hop!

We had a wonderful turn out for our first Sunday “Sew”cial and tote bag workshop; nearly 20 ladies! And every bag was different and so cute! Here are a few pics from those who got finished. The others were almost finished and could wrap it up at home. Please post a picture of your finished bag in the comments so we can see. If you were planning to attend the Sunday Sewing Social, it is just around the corner (this Sunday)! If you have not yet picked up your tote bag kit, time is getting short. There is some cutting homework to be done before we get together to sew. We are open today til 5 and 9-5 on Saturday.

Update: Class is filled!
Looking for one more student in our Beginning Quilting 102 class. This is an example of the class project, learning half square triangles and borders. We reinforce the skills of rotary cutting, accurate 1/4 inch seam, matching points, and binding. There are 4 lessons on Tuesday evenings starting Sept 8.
