Well… this one is going to take me a minute to process. 🥹
Thursday night I was named the Up & Coming Influential Woman in the Arts at the Influential Women of Northwest Indiana Awards.
And honestly? I am still completely blown away.
There were over 500 nominees. Around 900 people in that room that night. And somehow, my name was the one they called.
When I received the letter saying I had been selected as a finalist, I genuinely thought that was as far as this would go. I was already so honored just to be included in a room full of incredible women doing incredible things in Northwest Indiana.
I never expected to actually win.
Sweet Pea started as a creative outlet during one of the hardest seasons of my life. It grew into a business, a team, a way to serve my community, and a career that lets me create beauty for people on some of their very best days and some of their very hardest ones.
And now somehow it has led me here.
Mind boggling. Truly.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, trusted me with your flowers, shopped at Sweet Pea, attended a workshop, shared a post, recommended us to a friend, worked alongside me, or simply reminded me to keep going.
There are so many people woven into this little business and this life Luke and I have been blessed with.
I am so, so grateful. And still a little bit in disbelief. 🤍
