We spent over a year developing our refill system.

The insane frustration of continued fails gave me a tiny glimpse into the reality of how hard making a sustainable product is.

The expense, the time and the engineering complexity required to create a sustainable product made it painfully apparent why we are surrounded with throw away packaging and products loaded with toxins. Throw away is quick, it’s cheap and it supports mass production.

I’m a mother and (hopefully) one day a grandmother. Generations upon generations will follow our time here. In another 250 years I hope the beautiful custodians of this planet look back and celebrate us for changing the trajectory of excess waste, and creating a culture of living sustainability.

Before the name calling messages land I’m going to say: I’m not an activist, I’m not a tree-hugger, I have no political agenda. I’m just a candle maker who really cares about the planet we leave behind for our kids. I simply want to do my part.

Refill NOT Landfill, baby! 🌏♻️💚

The EPA estimates that more than 200 million candle vessels are discarded in the U.S. every year. 200 MILLION. That number blows our minds, and breaks our hearts for our increasingly fragile planet.

Candle vessels could be recycled, but in practice, a large percentage aren’t. Here are the main reasons:

Wax contamination: Even a small amount of leftover wax can make recycling difficult. While some recycling facilities can handle minor contamination most facilities cannot and send used candle jars to landfill.

Metal wick tabs: The metal tab glued to the bottom of the jar needs to be removed. If it’s left in place with hardened wax the recycling facility cannot accept the jar.

Painted, frosted, or decorated jars: Some candle jars have metallic coatings, paint, decals, or unusual finishes that aren’t accepted by recycling facilities. These go straight to landfill.

This is exactly why we spent over a year developing our refill system. Every refill gives your handcrafted concrete vessel another life, keeping it out of landfill and reducing the need to manufacture a new one. Beautiful home fragrance shouldn’t be disposable.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about giving a beautiful concrete candle jar a brand new life 🤍🤍🤍

Our refill candles launched on Monday, and this week we’ve already sold more refills than candles… and we couldn’t be happier!

Every refill means one less jar in landfill, less waste, and a more affordable way to enjoy your favourite fragrances (or discover a new one 😉).

This is exactly why we spent over a year developing our refill system. Beautiful home fragrance shouldn’t be disposable.

REFILL NOT LANDFILL, baby! 🤍

Smells like… 🇺🇸

…250 years of freedom.

This candle was created to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. We made three different jar and box designs and took them with us to a local vendor market.

There was a great response to these, and they sold quickly. Now we have just this one left. I regret not making the time to share the other two designs here on Instagram 🤦‍♀️ I didn’t even get a chance to photograph them! 🤦‍♀️

Being a British person in the USA, so deeply proud and privileged to live here, I’m keeping this last one for myself!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The fragrance is the sweet smell of Freedom - we blended leather, sweet tonka notes, smoky cedarwood, warm amber, and a hint of “pit house” earthiness all coming together to capture the spirit of America, hard work and community.

Wishing everyone a Happy July 4th!! Here’s to 250 years of independence.

❤️🤍💙

This weekend…we took a record number of orders 🤍
And somehow, it turned into our best revenue week to date — all online.

No big event. No in-person selling. Just you.

To every single person who placed an order — whether it was your first time or your fifteenth — THANK YOU. Truly.

Your support is what keeps our business growing, making concrete candles, packing orders, and (currently) slightly overwhelmed in the best way! 🤍

Now back to the boxes… 📦✨

An oversized matte black concrete candle defines a space. Heavy and grounded, our concrete jars always get noticed.

Not just a candle. A decision.

For those who know exactly what they want.
