TLDR: SOAD is good band 👍
Today marks the 25th anniversary of the album Toxicity.
Hearing this along with System Of A Down’s self titled album around Toxicity’s release was a canon event in my life. Not only was it the album that sparked my passion for music, it was a catalyst for so many different avenues my life has taken. It was the first moment I remember feeling like something was really made for me and figuring out who I was as a person.
Who knows, maybe if I had never heard it, I would have become a crooked politician instead of some weird guy who sells records. 🤨
I’ve found myself reminiscing about a lot of things surrounding this album today including the fact that I used to be a daily poster on their websites message board. 😂 Downloading concert videos on Limewire. Back then, you had to figure out the setlist then download each individual song video. Sometimes it took all week to get the full show!
Regrettably I did not see them on Toxicity’s tour. But I have seen some incredible and memorable performances by them.
It’s amazing how legendary this band has become over the years. This album is absolutely timeless. It sounds like it could have been released today.
If you have any fond memories surrounding this album, let me know in the comments 🤘
