THIS is why we sell books. My goal is connecting people with something from their past that makes them feel good. When we get a letter (email) like this one, it is SOOO fulfilling!

… after 76 years, Oklahoma Kickoff is perfect!
It arrived in fine shape this afternoon. Pristine packaging. You need to teach Amazon how to ship books!
If I may please ask if the book has noteworthy provenance you might be aware of? It is in such good shape, surely it had limited ownership that took good care of it or rarely used it.
Quick insights, if I may please share. I grew up in Norman close enough to the campus to hear the roar of the football crowds in the 1960s when the book author still worked for OU. I even got to meet him when I was in junior high. I read a children’s novel he wrote, and he met a group of students in the school library to discuss the book as we saw it, if memory serves.
Furthermore, I grew up across the street from a member of the first OU team of any sort to win a conference championship! I only learned about this as an adult after I moved away from home. He was on the football team and OU was in the Southwest Conference in the middle 1915s. A picture of that team, with him in the picture(!) is in the book!! He gave up football to enlist in World War I! Thankfully he returned from battle to finish his degree, but did not return to football.
Finally, thumbing through the book, I discovered a souvenir from the State Fair of Texas: a monorail ticket! It is undated, but I did find this in Wikipedia: "Trailblazer was a suspended monorail that operated at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas from 1956 to 1964. It was the first commercially operated monorail system in the United States.” Nice! Thanks for the bonus! It looks old enough to be from 1956, but who knows? I might submit a picture of the ticket to Traces of Texas on Facebook to see if he might post it for feedback.
Thank you, Santa Claus, for coming several weeks early!
