A clean owl is a happy owl. What a pure delight to see a burrowing owl family experience a brief summer rain shower. The owlets come out of their burrow at first with caution to copy mom with the proper positioning to clean their feathers. Then they begin to experience the summer rain joyously.

Desert Bighorn Sheep visit the shoreline of Canyon Lake for a refreshing drink of cool water. The frequency that a Desert Bighorn needs to drink varies with the season. During summer heat, they will need to visit a water source to drink daily. During cooler winter months or in years with plentiful rain, a bighorn may get enough hydration from food sources or small water seeps that they may only need to visit a larger water source once every few weeks.
