ICD Private Jewelers enchanting collection of fine jewelry from international designers has made it one of the New York Metropolitan area's premier shopping destinations. Since its opening in 1976, ICD’s inspired designs, affordable prices, and warm atmosphere have attracted a bevy of regular customers, including such notables as Vanessa Williams, Kim Van Gundy, President Bill Clinton, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Founder and owner Varda Singer comes from a family entrenched in the jewelry business. She hails from Israel, where her father was a prominent diamond merchant. After serving as a lieutenant in the Israeli army, Varda came to America to attend Columbia University, where she attained a degree in psychology and education. She began her career as a jeweler importing and selling at the wholesale level. The connections she established with international suppliers helped her launch ICD in her hometown of Chappaqua. Varda travels the world in search of unique treasures, designs jewelry lines exclusive to ICD, and creates custom pieces for clients.

A beautiful strand of pearls can always be given a fresh new life.

For this transformation, I updated my customer’s classic pearl necklace by adding a handcrafted gold bead and rondels created with the ancient art of granulation - a technique in which tiny spheres of gold are carefully arranged and fused together to create an intricate, textured design.

The whale shark is the largest fish in the world, enormous and powerful, yet remarkably gentle.

In a beautiful BBC story from Indonesia, local fishermen describe whale sharks as bearers of good fortune, treating these magnificent creatures with extraordinary respect.

That story inspired a customer who is involved with saving whales throughout the world.

We created 3 diamond whale shark pins, graduating and swimming upwards on her blazer lapel. A signature pin for a lifetime.
