Decided to treat myself to a 1966 P bass as I start my bass clef journey. This model, down to year and color, has been on my bucket list for several years now. Sometimes you gotta wait it out til you find the right one!

And for my fellow nerds…it’s totally original! Plays super easy with a nice low action—something you can’t always say about old Fender basses. Score!

This 1959 Vibrolux is in absolute time capsule condition and sounds like a million bucks, but its story is a humbling read.

Several years after our original owner purchased the amp, the United States ramped up military involvement in Vietnam—throwing him into the fray.

Unfortunately, he didn’t survive, leaving this amp in “as it left the factory” condition.

A conflicting feeling, sure, but it’s nice knowing the amp is being used once again.

It’s not everyday a 1959 Fender Vibrolux appears on your doorstep. And this one’s got the footswitch AND cover!

I’ll upload a video documenting the circuitry, but til then, just know the “Rachel” sticker and entire circuit is 100% original down to all electrolytics, tubes, transformers, and more.

Presently sounding like a million bucks, I’m just deciding what to do the video demo with…Strat or Jazzmaster?
