Ok all you fishing guys and gals. Stopped in this am and they have Powerpro Spectra line in various weight from 10lb up for only 9.99 for 150 yards in green. This is GREAT stuff for inshore fishing and thise Bass rods. Cheapest ANYWHERE.

I take my old buddy out for his morning walk abouts. He wanders around, nose to the ground to SEE where he is going since he can't see anymore. His pace is a lot slower as his hips are giving him a lot trouble, his pain meds help, but you can see it in his gate. You can call his name, you can whistle. But he can't hear you anymore. So as he wanders around, I wander what must be going through his mind. He stops and puts his nose to the air, a slight breeze is blowing. Is he thinking of older times when he could run and play, trying to figure out what's around him or just enjoying the fresh morning air. We'll it's been a good 16 years for a good friend. I just hope that when that time comes, he goes on his on, in his sleep. Not a decision that I want to have to make.

Good year for the figs, 1 gallon of Strawberry fig preserves in the jars. That will last a good while for the two of us....

With Shell Island Fish Camp – I just made it onto their weekly engagement list by being one of their top engagers! 🎉 they are 10 hours from me but the best fishing trips I've ever been on were out of Shell Island. I will make it back again one day. SO, YOU need to GO to make some of the BEST MEMORIES EVER!

Well, home from the driveway install on the Va. Property. It WAS going GREAT until the track on the excavator came off...with only 6ft left out of 40 feet of 15" pipe. To say the least, it was NOT an easy task with only a fiberglass handled shovel. It didn't make it long, an hour, before it was broken into pieces. A Tractor Supply run was made and another hour and half and we were back at it. Now hopefully we can get to work on the property and get it cleared enough for parking and a couple structures.

Well, we are doing some test batches for the 2024 season. KENALLI Enterprises will have HOT & FRESH pork skins. Right now we are going to have Regular, Salt & Vinegar, BBQ AND Bacon & Cheese. Right at 2qt from 30 gallons of sapand only 6hrs from start to finish. WAY better than 15 hour days for the same amount...

Well, all that gathering sap....just to have it go bad before having enough to boil off. Got to warm, well to many days above freezing. Hopefully a long cold snap is coming, but if not, another year syrup free. Maybe I could gather and freeze it until enoughto have a boil off.

Did another collection today, got at a good guesstimate, right at 19 gallons of sap. If we get a good return of maybe 2% sugar content, we could get ALMOST a quart of syrup. Going to collect as long as it stays fairly cool. This rain should make them.really turn on. Next weekend will be a look down saturday, maybe enough for 1/2 gallon by then.

It took a while to get everything found, sanitized and treed are tapped. Hopefully the weatherman is right this time. ...

It took a while to get everything found, sanitized and treed are tapped. Hopefully the weatherman is right this time. Looks like a week of below breezing nights and a good swing into the 50's in the day. Maybe it will get a lot of sap flowing. They started as soon as I tapped them tonight. Missed a good week before Christmas, but with all the Santa appointments, did not together them tapped. Last tear was a no go because of Temps, mabe this winter will be better. Ronnie Newsome , time to get at it.
