I love my hometown Charlottesville, Virginia, and this is who it is named after - an excerpt from blackpeppermagazine:

My father lived on this earth from December 23, 1923 to August 14, 2013. It's only been 4 yrs but feels like a lifetime. In honor of the best father this girl could have had...

In memory I write of you
The Father that I always knew
And though you are not here with me
Within my heart I do believe

You helped to bring me into this place
Surrounded by the human race
From above a gift your were given
To hold, to love, to teach to be driven

A since of right you drilled in me
And honestly we both could agree
It wasn't easy to share your faith
I still push back though you've passed through the gate

So here I sit and think of you
While this day is special it's nothing new
For everyday you live in my heart
Although your body is not longer a part

Of this world where life can be hard
I live to honor your words from afar
That truth should always be placed before self
To lie is to harm those of us you have left

Daddy-O I still love you so
And for all of my life I will continue to show
The good you instilled with my call for the truth
For I know that truth is what gives trust birth
