Every interaction you have creates an energetic cord. Most are benign and will not harm or bother you. Some are malignant. Cord cutting is a way to get rid of those cords so that they no longer weigh you down. Many choose to use this ritual after a breakup, leaving a job, or even when manifesting for a new beginning.

This simple Cord Cutting Ritual can be performed at any time and at any place, which makes it a handy spell to have in your arsenal. This ritual aims to reclaim your personal energy and restore emotional independence, rather than physically or emotionally harming the other person.

ITEMS NEEDED
* 2 Candles
* H**p cord, tw**e, or natural yarn

STEPS
* Carve names or symbols into the first candle, which represents you.
* Carve names or symbols into the second candle, which represents what or who you are cutting off.
* Tie the cord to the candles. This represents the bond between the 2 candles.
* Light the candles and speak your intention out loud. It could be as simple as :

“I release ______.
I reclaim my ______.
Please bring _____ to me”

* While the candles burn, meditate on what you seek.
* Allow the candles to burn until the cord has been lit and burned through.
* Once burned through, dispose of any remaining cord/candle/wax away from your home

Here are a couple of things I personally do for this ritual:
- Unless this is specifically aimed at one person, I do not carve names. Instead, use symbols/sigils/bindrunes to link into what you are working towards.
- Always cleanse your space before you start. This can be as simple as salt, water, or sage. It is up to you.
- Only use the supplies for this once. Do not reuse any leftover cord or candle.
- Anoint the candles. Water, oils, and herbs are useful for this.
As always, these steps are optional. Spell work is very much about Intention. If something works for you, keep it. If it doesn’t, get rid of it.

Deadly Nightshade, or Belladonna, is referenced in the Ebers papyrus, which was written in 1550BC, making it one of the oldest botanical poisons recorded. It appears in Greek myth as it was used by the witch Circe to poison Odysseus’s men before they were turned into pigs. It was also associated with Dionysus, the Greek god of ecstasy and w**e, and worshippers mixed it in a drink to induce a trance. Furthermore, it was a sacred plant of Hecate’s, along with Mandrake, Dittany, and Aconite. Roman soldiers also allegedly used Deadly Nightshade to poison their arrows.

This fascinating plant is found in scrub areas and woodland, and can resemble Bittersweet, or Woody Nightshade, as both have purple flowers. Deadly Nightshade however has shiny black berries, and it was said that if you ate these, you would be punished by the Devil. The leaves grow on stalks alternatively and the flowers are bell-shaped.

It was believed that witches could turn into animals, and the toxins in the nightshade family are particularly good at causing the sensation of turning into one. While this plant is dangerous to humans, rabbits can apparently eat the plant without a problem, and cows and some birds are able to eat the berries.

In modern esoteric herbalism (the "Poison Path"), nightshades represent the threshold between the living world and the unseen. It is viewed as a gatekeeper plant for working with shadow aspects, the underworld, and deep psychological or spiritual transformation.

Historically, belladonna was a core ingredient in medieval European "flying ointments," used topically to induce vivid hallucinations, a sensation of weightlessness, and perceived communion with spirits or attendance at nocturnal assemblies.

❌❌WARNING: Belladonna can be absorbed through the skin or tiny cuts! Fatal Toxicity: All parts of the plant—especially the berries and leaves—contain potent tropane alkaloids like atropine and scopolamine. Ingestion or improper absorption can easily cause severe poisoning, prolonged delirium, coma, and death. Handle with care using proper protective gear!❌❌

Earthing. Such a strange word, but for an amazing practice. Some call it grounding, but it is so much deeper than that.

Earthing is the practice of connecting with the Earth via direct skin contact. It helps to promote and maintain balance, physically and mentally.

You may have heard the phrase “go touch grass” thrown around recently and this is why. The science behind Earthing is just as fascinating as the Spiritual concept.

Essentially, the earth is a giant battery. Electrical charges and energy are stored there. When you have direct contact with it, you become a conduit for that energy to flow.

👣 Earthing has been found to help with everything from stress levels to sleep quality.

I suggest at least once a week, go outside, take off your shoes and socks, and just walk in the grass. No other purpose or agenda besides regulating your energy.

Shadow Work is a very difficult undertaking, but so very worth it.

Shadow Work is the practice of exploring, accepting, and integrating the hidden parts of yourself that you don’t want others to see.

This practice is rooted in a concept by Dr. Carl Jung that says we must confront these parts of ourself in order to gain wholeness.

It isn’t a practice all about the bad traits. It also looks at positive or neglected qualities as well, such as ambition, assertiveness, and emotions.

I like to think of Shadow Work simply as journaling. It is just for the aspects of self you try to hide or not acknowledge.

If the prompt hits too hard, here is one that is a bit softer: What power do you wish to work on within yourself?

For today’s Manifestation tip, we are going to explore things NOT to say or focus on while manifesting.

As you know, manifestation is all about intentions and bringing things to fruition. When you use phrasing that limits, expresses doubt, or shows frustration, your manifestation can get freaky, fast.

Stay away from phrases like “I can’t” or “It’s impossible”. These will throw immediate mental blocks in your path. Instead, try starting with “I am” or “I have”. These open up the possibilities immensely.

When manifesting, it is important to be in a state of mind to receive the gifts. Try to stay away from manifesting when you are in grief, feeling anger, or even jealousy.

These small tips can help you on your manifesting journey.

Gaia, Mother Earth, Mother of All. It doesn’t matter what name you call her by, she is the same and will respond.

Today, remember that we all belong to the Earth, not the other way around. Our choices ripple through the entire planet.

Littering, carbon emissions, drilling, mining all have consequences further down the line. When you choose to see Nature as a living being and an active partner, your mindfulness will grow.

I suggest looking into the Gaia Hypothesis, which states that Earth is a self-regulating,
loving organism. It is pretty profound and might make you see things on a whole new light. ❤️ 🌎

Doing spells can be a simple process. You don’t always need the pomp and circumstance of High Magick. Sometimes, a quick little incantation and a couple of supplies can go a long way.

This quick little protection spell uses everyday items that you probably already have. Plus, you can reuse the candle if it isn’t burned out!

- Candle- you can choose white or black. White generally symbolizes purity and cleansing, whereas black is usually used as protection and banishing.
- Salt- salt is a neutralizer and cleanser. Table salt is easily accessible and works just fine.
- Rosemary- if you happen to have a fresh sprig, perfect! If you only have the dried stuff that you use for cooking, also perfect! Rosemary is a very protective herb.
- Fire Safe Dish- this is the MOST important item!! Please don’t burn your home down. Setting the neighborhood on fire is not very witchy!

Remember, spells, whether large or small, are about intention. Keep your intention focused on the outcome you want.
