Operation Welcome Mat A community effort to continuously collect welcome mats and needed items to be given to our new refug Message us for drop off info. Thank you!

As small symbol with big meaning, Operation Welcome Mat aims to serve as a visual token of welcome to our newly arrived refugee neighbors in Cleveland. After an overwhelming response at our first ever welcome mat collection event, a page has been created to continue the momentum! We hope to continue collecting welcome mats in order to present each new family with one via the local resettlement age

ncies upon their arrival. Maybe make it a monthly routine to pick one up when you swing down the aisle at the store. Maybe you grab an extra one every time you swap your own out at home. We would love welcome mat donating to be part of your routine! We WELCOME you to help us collect mats throughout the year!

As you begin Spring cleaning, please think of Joseph House and the newcomers in our community. We are partnering with International Newcomers Academy at Thomas Jefferson to donate bikes to their students on May 22nd. International Newcomers Academy is for students who have just arrived in Cleveland from all over the world, and provides a welcoming learning environment to help students get used to their new surroundings.

Our goal is to give away 100 bikes! If you'd like to donate, please contact Maureen at: 216-431-7200

Calling for donations to support new families to Cleveland! Re:Source Cleveland seeks to empower resettled families to grow roots and become contributing members to their communities. Every year, new families and individuals will experience their very first Cleveland winter and many have no experience with driving in snowy or icy conditions. It can be extremely dangerous as they often don’t realize what they may need until they are in a position where they could be stuck. We want to make sure our neighbors have the needed tools to safely travel, go to work, and live during the cold winter months. As such, we are seeking to collect several key winter items to help educate families and give them the resources they will need to ensure they stay safe through the upcoming winter months. We are looking for donations for the following items:

Ice scrapers
Blankets
Hot hands packs
Small shovels for digging out a car
Road flares

Thank you for being a part of welcoming our neighbors!

Did you know that Migration & Refugee Services provides hundreds of warm blankets to refugee families each year? For many, winters in Cleveland are very harsh and cold, and a warm blanket helps provide some extra comfort.

With your support, we can continue giving additional blankets to each refugee. You can donate a new or slightly used blanket or quilt or comforter by reaching out to Ann at 216-939-3759 or [email protected]. We thank you for walking hand-in-hand with our refugees, especially during this cold winter.
