While a roof exit has numerous advantages, some setups require a wall exit for your Tiny Wood Stove. There are three numbers to keep in mind when you start planning: the wall thickness, clearance, and offset correct, follow the 3-2-10 rule for height, and skip the direct-exit shortcut ➡️

1. Wall Thickness: Interior finish to exterior finish, measured straight through.
2. Clearance to Wall: Use the larger of your heat-shield minimum and the 6.75“ pipe-geometry minimum.
3. Exterior Offset: Pipe sits about 2.75“ off the exterior wall; add more to clear eaves.

Go 3 ft above the roof within 10 ft of it, or 2 ft above the highest point within 10 ft. Take the taller number.
Vertical run: at least 3 times your horizontal run. Dwarf stoves need 80“ vertical, minimum]
Remember: More single-wall pipe inside means hotter draft, less creosote, and lower cost.
Horizontal-only flues under 15“ smoke back on cold starts and lose more heat outside instead of warming your space.
