Mote’s Bible Rebinds

Mote’s Bible Rebinds Our primary focus is to provide quality Bible rebinds. Though this is the case, we are expanding our leather products regularly.

There’s something sacred about taking a worn Bible and giving it new life.

Today I started the process on another rebind. Carefully deconstructing what was, preparing it for what it will become — a Bible built to be opened, read, and handed down.

This is the work I get to do at Mote’s Bible Rebinds.

Every Bible that comes through tells a story — highlighted passages, dog-eared pages, notes scribbled in margins. My job isn’t to erase that history. It’s to honor it with a binding worthy of the Word it carries.

More of this process coming soon. If you want to see the full journey from start to finish, follow along here and over on the Crafted for Glory YouTube channel where I’ll be walking through the craft in detail.

Three on the bench.

Every Bible that comes through our shop has a story — pages turned in prayer, covers worn by faithful hands, spines cracked from years of study.

Here’s a look at what’s currently on the workbench:

📖 Project 1 — Worn cover, loose pages. This one needs a full rebind to bring it back to life.

📖 Project 2 — Similar wear and page issues. Years of use have taken their toll, but the bones are good.

📖 Project 3 — This one’s the big one. Nearly the entire Bible needs to be restructured from the ground up before we even get to the rebind. It’s the kind of project that takes patience, precision, and a whole lot of care.

There’s something sacred about restoring a Bible that’s been loved hard. These aren’t just books — they’re companions in the faith, marked by highlighters, tear stains, and years of turning to the same promises.

Stay tuned for the process and the final reveal.

From Worn to Worthy

There’s something sacred about restoring a well-loved Bible. Each crease, each worn edge tells a story of faithful study and constant use.

This rebind took a Bible that had served its owner faithfully for years and gave it new life—custom leather cover, reinforced spine, preserved notes and margins that hold years of insights and prayers.
We don’t just rebind books. We restore tools of discipleship, renewing what’s been worn through faithful use so it can serve for years to come.

Every rebind is a reminder: what’s been faithful deserves to be preserved. What’s been used deserves to be honored.

Marrying Cover to Liner: The Foundation of Your Bible’s Rebirth

This is where your rebind truly begins to take form. After carefully preparing both the cover and liner, it’s time to unite them—a step that requires precision, patience, and a steady hand.

The marriage of cover to liner isn’t just about adhesion; it’s about creating a foundation that will hold strong through years of use, study, and meditation on God’s Word. Every smooth stroke of the bone folder, every careful alignment, serves the greater purpose of preserving Scripture for faithful engagement.

This step reveals something beautiful about craftsmanship: excellence isn’t found in rushing to the finished product, but in honoring each stage of the process. Just as the Lord works patiently in our sanctification, we work carefully in our craft—knowing that what we build with our hands is an act of worship.

When you pick up your rebound Bible, you won’t see this step. But you’ll feel it in the way the cover opens smoothly, the way everything sits just right in your hands. That’s the beauty of faithful work—it serves without announcing itself.

Whether you’re rebinding your own study Bible or learning the craft to serve others, remember: this isn’t just bookbinding. It’s stewardship of the very words that have been “breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”

Stripping it down to start fresh.

Step 1 of every Bible rebind: removing the old cover. This worn Bible has served its owner faithfully for years, but now it’s time for new life.

We carefully separate the text block from the damaged case, preserving every page, every note, every memory. What looks like destruction is actually the first step of restoration.

The goal isn’t just a pretty cover—it’s honoring God’s Word by giving it the care and craftsmanship it deserves.

Stay tuned as we rebuild this Bible from the ground up.
