And there's cake, even - amazing cake! And a bit o' lovely music, a treasure hunt for kids of all ages, and a fallen tree memorial YOU can add your thoughts to. The weather will be gawjuss - dive right in!

Join us at the Clothesline Sale of Art this Saturday, Aug. 1, 10-5, in Central Park! TEAL will be represented by Louie Gizyn and Ute Vergin in booths 2 and 4.

A big tree fell on the Clothesline Sale - but we’re getting back up anyway – and YOU can be a part of it!

Here’s what really happened: two big limbs dropped off the big red oak in the middle of the east side of Central Park, where the Clothesline Sale happens. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. But serious damage was found in what remained standing, so the tree had to be felled, just a month before the Sale. This forced big changes in the event, and an exciting addition we invite the community to support:

Do you have fond memories of the big red oak - the biggest tree on that side of the park? A first date there? A frisbee game nearby? Enjoying the view from the benches around it? I remember a juvenile Cooper’s Hawk seemed annoyed last year’s Clothesline Sale interrupted his hunting, and made a racket about it all afternoon, high in the canopy overhead.

Please join us Saturday, August 1 between 10am and 5pm and visit the ten feet remaining above ground of this revered Corvallis elder. Tell us what its presence meant to you - and/or what you think its future could be. We’ll collect and display your stories and thoughts that day, then archive them as evidence of the importance of every individual to the greater good we share.

While you’re there, you can see lots of amazing locally-produced art, enjoy delicious food, a wee bit of lilting music, and even learn how to fold an origami peace crane – but that’s another post…

We’re excited to have found a great location for this year’s TEAL Holiday Gallery. We’ll open on Friday, Oct. 30, at 207 NW 2nd Street, the former location of Peak Sports.

We welcome six new artists to TEAL this year: Rob Dudenhoefer (jewelry), Norma Eaton (painted paper collage), Marcella Henkels (Raku ceramic tiles), Jennifer Lommers (mixed media collage), Michael Mills (metal) and Emily Picard (leather) will join us in our 2026 holiday gallery.

Three long-time TEAL artists have retired, and we will miss them dearly: leather artist Linda Avery, metal artist Tam Greiter and paper artist Jeanne Heywood.

We’ll announce the location and opening of our gallery when we’ve signed a lease for a storefront in downtown Corvallis.
