Introducing the newest addition to the Collection: Papyrus 46, The Christ Hymn.

Discovered among the Chester Beatty Papyri and announced in 1931, P46 is the earliest substantial witness we have to Paul's letters. This leaf carries Philippians 1:17-2:12, including the hymn the church has sung for centuries: "At the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." A working scribe in Egypt copied these words around AD 175-225, nearly a century after Paul wrote them from prison: "to live is Christ, and to die is gain."

Reproduced at true scale on genuine Egyptian papyrus, mounted front and back in acrylic so recto and verso can both be read at once, the whole span of the leaf in your hands.

P46 is one of the oldest surviving manuscripts of Paul's letters, dated to roughly 175-225 AD. That means this fragment was copied within a lifetime or two of the apostle himself, long before the councils, before the canon debates, before any of the "corruption" theories skeptics love to raise.

Would you trust a Bible copied while Rome was actively killing Christians for owning one?

That's exactly what Papyrus 47 is: a third-century copy of Revelation, part of the Chester Beatty collection, made decades before the church ever formally settled the New Testament canon. Someone risked something to preserve these words.

This replica reproduces Revelation 13:16–14:10, the mark of the beast, the call for the saints' endurance, and the vision of the Lamb standing on Mount Zion. Not a minor passage. Not a safe one to be caught copying.

"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets... how often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!"

This is Matthew 23, preserved on Papyrus 77, one of the earliest witnesses we have to the Gospel of Matthew.

P77 preserves Christ's lament over Jerusalem and His rebuke of the scribes and Pharisees, textually it holds closest affinity to Codex Sinaiticus, one of the great pillars of the Alexandrian tradition. Discovered at Oxyrhynchus, Egypt and now housed at Oxford's Sackler Library, it's a fragment small in size but massive in what it confirms: the words you're reading in Matthew 23 today are the same words being read by believers nearly 2,000 years ago.

Our replica brings this front and back on an acrylic display, so you can hold and study both sides exactly as the original scribe wrote them.

The first is the earliest surviving copy of the chapter Paul stakes everything on. The second is the earliest substantial copy we have of the gospel written first. The third is one of the earliest places in Scripture where Jesus is called God.

One of the most rewarding parts of attending events like these is witnessing a person's reaction the moment they realize what they're looking at: a faithful replica of a manuscript more than a thousand years old.
