Especially cool features:
Convert a planned build into a finished knife: “Create Knife” transfers tracker details into a real knife record, generates eligible BOM items, deducts materials, and links the order and knife together.
Automatic inventory accounting: Adding, editing, or removing BOM usage produces the appropriate inventory movement automatically.
Unit conversion: Material can be stocked in one unit and consumed in another—for example, storing steel in feet while recording eight inches of usage.
Build-cost and profit calculation: Combines material cost with labor hours/rate or length/cost-per-inch to calculate total cost and profit.
Flexible inventory mode: The app can run with full material inventory, simple cost-only BOM entries, or a hybrid of both.
Custom knife-detail system: Shops can create their own fields and decide whether each field uses a lookup list or real inventory materials.
Build and BOM templates: Repeated knife styles can start with predefined materials, details, stages, and checklist tasks.
Production checklists: Tracker tasks are grouped by stage, timestamped, given estimated minutes, and summarized with a completion progress bar.
Visual knife gallery: Search and browse knives visually, attach photos, open them full-screen, and zoom or pan on supported devices.
Smart searching: Supports partial or exact matching, explicit wildcards, archived-record filtering, reusable criteria, and filtered CSV exports.
Customer communication: Call, email, map addresses, schedule follow-ups, and generate an editable thank-you email or text after a sale.
Invoice receipts: Export a receipt PDF or open the device’s sharing flow to send it.
Local-first and portable: Core records live in a local database with comprehensive backup and CSV/ZIP export options.
The app is essentially a specialized knife-making CRM, inventory system, build tracker, costing tool, and sales platform in one package.
