Weā€™re Kate & Bryan, wife and husband, designer and builder, coffee and construction dust, living locally in Cypress, TX! Also, we share 3 lovely kiddos (teens so pray for us).

Demo day is where the vision finally starts becoming reality.

Today, this kitchen is dark, closed off, and filled with walls that no longer serve the way this family wants to live.

Over the next few months, it will become something entirely different: an Afro-Bohemian escape inspired by Moroccan architecture, organic textures, warm woods, and collected details that feel both timeless and deeply personal.

The hardest part of any remodel isnā€™t demolition.

Itā€™s having the confidence to remove whatā€™s no longer working so you can create space for something better.

And in this home, reclaiming just two feet of usable kitchen space is going to completely change how this family experiences their home every single day.

One of the biggest misconceptions about whole-home remodeling is thinking every room has to match.

Youā€™ve probably walked through hundreds of homes with arches and never thought twice about them.

Most people donā€™t. āŒ

But architectural details have a way of shaping how a home feelsā€”whether you realize it or not.

For this remodel, our clients wanted every opening in the home to feel intentional, soft, and cohesive. That meant replacing the existing ā€œbrokenā€ arches with true rounded openings throughout the home.

The difference isnā€™t dramatic on paper.

In person, itā€™s everything.

āœ… Custom homes arenā€™t defined by square footage or finishes alone. Theyā€™re created through thoughtful decisions repeated consistently, room after room.
